Twenty-six years ago when I started fostering I could only image one child at a time to welcome into my family's' circle of love, with compassion, growth and personal development. Today, through A Heart Like His, I can offer a safe loving and productive circle for, infants, children, teens & young-adults.

Ms. Lisa Henderson-Montgomery

October 1998 – A Heart Like His opens as "Lisa & her Boys" in a home in Carrollton, Texas. The home is run by our founder.

September 2007 – The vision of A Heart Like His begins. A group of community volunteers made up of local residents meet to discuss the AHLH and it's future.

Valentine's Day 2012 – The second full cycle of foster kids are accepted into Lisa's home aka G-Momma.

October 2015 – The Board Member review.

July 2016 - PSA's on Fostering and the importance of Fostering Teens

July 2016 -  - Elimination process begins in the Board Member initial selection.

November 2016 - Honored to received Foster Family of the Year by the Wisconsin Coalition for Children, Youth and Families

March 2017 – The Board Member selection is completed.

August 2018 -  Hosted first annual Back to School Giveaway

August 2019 - Official Invitation to become a Board Member is sent to the divine nine

February 2020 – First Annual Board Meeting is held.

November 2020 - Third cycle of foster children accepted into Lisa's home through the Kinship Foster Care Program (former foster child's children)

November 2020 - Annual Food Giveaway to homeless in DFW area during COVID

December 2020 - First Annual Toy Giveaway

Each year since 2018 we have continued to host:

-Back to school giveaways

-Fed the homeless at Easter, Mother's & Father's Day Weekends, Thanksgiving and Christmas
